Denmark Student Visa Process
The documentation required for studying in Denmark depends on your country of origin and the duration of your stay. Nordic and EU/EEA citizens do not require anything more than valid passport to enter Denmark (although some action may need to be taken on arrival), whilst international students will need a visa/residence permit. 1. Passport Requirements:
Original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay in Denmark, with at least two blank passport pages available plus color photocopies of all pages of the passport (including blank pages). Amendment pages in the back of the passport are not suitable for Danish visas. The passport must have been issued within the past 10 years.

Part 2 must be completed and signed in section 15 by the institution in Denmark. The institution needs to attach documents and send to the applicant to submit with the application.
Part 1 must be completed and signed in section 9 by the applicant, documents attached, then make the payment online at www.newtodenmark.dk/fee and file the complete application and all documents at the Visa Application Center.
Please Note: The applicant must appear in person at any of the VFS Denmark Visa Centers operated by Travisa Outsourcing in the United States no later than 10 business days from the date the application was submitted for biometrics to be taken. The Online Payment Receipt for payment to the Danish Immigration Service must be submitted.

3. Photo Requirements:
One recent 2 x 2 passport type photograph, in color, front view and with a plain/white background.
4. Official Invitation:
Letter of acceptance showing the applicant has been accepted into a study program/course at an educational institution in Denmark.
5. Applicants Under The Age Of 18:
If the applicant is under 18 years of age, he or she must include a notarized declaration signed by both parents showing that they accept applicant’s stay in Denmark. If not residing at a boarding school, parents must clearly state where and with whom the applicant will be living while in Denmark.
6. Proof Of Sufficient Funds:
If applicant is to attend a Danish folk high school, or, study at a higher educational program and is to pay tuition fees, OR has been granted a Danish state scholarship (free tuition and living expenses covered), the applicant does not need to provide financial requirements. If attending higher educational program and is not to pay tuition fees, and has not been granted a Danish State Scholarship, the applicant must provide proof he/she can support him/herself financially while in Denmark. Bank statements from accounts in Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Benin, Cameroon, Ghana, India, Nigeria, and Togo will not be accepted unless the bank has a European branch. Bank statement must be the most recent statement, and in an account under the applicant’s name only. If study at a secondary education and the stay is not arranged by an exchange organization which has been approved by the EU, you must include either documentation that applicant has begun secondary education in home country and that the education will be completed after the stay in Denmark. The documentation must be issued by your school in your home country and it must specify when you began your secondary education and when you are expected to complete it. – OR – Documentation that applicant will continue secondary education in home country. The documentation must be issued by a school in home country and it must specify that applicant is guaranteed a place to continue education at the school following stay in Denmark.
7. Residency Status:
Original and one COLOR copy of US Permanent Resident Card or valid visa. US visa holders should have original I-94 or I-20 stapled to their passport. I-20 must have been signed within the last 12 months.
8. Special Instructions:
Schengen countries began to collect fingerprints from visa customers at all missions in North America on the 15th May 2014. The first biometric Schengen visa has to be applied for in person from an embassy, a consulate general or a consulate of the country where an applicant lives or legally resides. Fingerprints are valid for 4 years and 11 months in which time visa application can be mailed to Travisa for preparation for submission to the Consulate.
